ChanPu Design's Hua Qi: A Geometric Marvel

Blending Geometry and Architecture in a Vibrant Financial Center

From the ancient Egyptian pyramids to the modern museums and grand theaters, architects have long explored the architectural expression of spatial geometry. ChanPu Design's Hua Qi Financial Center is a testament to this enduring fascination. The project, located in Guangzhou's Huadu district, is a vibrant hub of activity, featuring grade A office space, fashion shopping, and dining venues. The building's unique design incorporates geometric thinking, resulting in a construction form that exudes both tension and sculptural beauty.

What sets the Hua Qi Financial Center apart is its unique blend of materials. The use of smooth wood grain mitigates the coldness typically associated with concrete, while the large glass curtain wall strikes a balance between modern fashion and traditional Oriental aesthetics. The result is a visually stunning structure that is both warm and natural.

The building's facade, inspired by the form of a diamond after grinding, employs a reflective glass curtain wall to emphasize a sense of mystery and composure. The outdoor environment, based on a water theme, uses elements like boats and water ripples to enhance the visual flexibility of the entrance. The reflection of the living water on the glass curtain wall creates a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor elements, offering a sense of peace and tranquility.

The design team, comprising Jun Jun Zhu, Jin Ning Zhang, and Zhao Xun Huang, faced the challenge of perfectly meeting each design demand with effective combinations of points, lines, and surfaces. The team's goal was not only to pursue the technological aesthetics of the project design but also to focus on the close integration of human and nature. By extracting simple and smooth lines from the expressions of architects of countless eras for exploring the geometry of space, the design team integrates natural elements into the project design to create a different experience space for visitors.

The Hua Qi Financial Center's design has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building, and Structure Design in 2021. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
